Cedar Point Cares

Giving Back

Cedar Point and the city of Sandusky have shared a long, rich history. Along with being one of the largest businesses in the city comes the responsibility to set the example of what it means to be a good corporate citizen. Cedar Point has lead the way by partnering with numerous local, regional and national charitable organizations, including hosting fundraising events for the Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross (First Rider Auctions on new rides and roller coasters, annual Challenge Golf event and the Ultimate Ride Auction featuring a ride on the Goodyear Blimp), donating food and supplies to local soup kitchens, collecting food and items for the Humane Society of Erie County, hosting a coaster-riding marathon to benefit Give Kids The World in Orlando, Fla., and much more.

Cedar Point understands that the children are our most valuable assets and has implemented and funded several key local educational initiatives, including the funding of the Cedar Point Center – a full-service, high-tech meeting and conference center at the Firelands college campus of Bowling Green State University; a major donation to the Sandusky High School Blue Streak Booster Club to help install new turf on the football field; hosting the Cedar Point 5K Challenge, which helps raise money for the Sandusky High School, Perkins High School and St. Mary’s High School athletic booster organizations, and many more.

Employee Involvement

Our employees are active in the community on their own time, too. From serving on local non-profit boards (Chamber of Commerce, the Firelands Regional Medical Center , Boys & Girls Club of Erie County, and others) to donating monetary resources (United Way Angel Tree, American Cancer Society, Victory Temple Soup Kitchen, etc.), the park’s employees strive to be good role models and help those who need it the most.

Cedar Point also works with a number of charitable organizations to help raise funds, including partnering with the American Cancer Society, Toys for Tots, and more. The park also helps local organizations provide a day’s worth of fun for those who may not have been able to provide one on their own, including the ARC of Ohio and the Erie County Community Action Commission.

Sandusky Proud!

Cedar Point is proud to call Sandusky, Ohio home. The park has continued to be at the forefront of showcasing the many aspects that make Sandusky the best vacation destination in the Midwest! By hosting major events that create excitement and involve the entire community, including the Rev3 triathlon (where the athletes from around the world come to swim in Lake Erie, bike throughout Erie County and run through downtown Sandusky) to hosting some of the biggest names in the music industry (Skillet, TobyMac, Kirk Franklin, etc.), and working with national television outlets (The Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, etc.) Cedar Point has helped bring millions of visitors to the north coast of Ohio, bringing with them tax dollars and revenue that have helped Sandusky, Erie County and the state of Ohio to continue to grow and improve the lives of its citizens.
