Go On A Foodventure This Fall

October 2, 2020

The first two weekends of Tricks And Treats Fall Fest are under our belts (and so is the delicious food!).

Now, it’s time for another.

As we’ve announced earlier, our HalloWeekends event is on “break” this year as we all navigate through new safety guidelines. So that means a new event with new features. A street festival, if you will.

In addition to all of the family-friendly activities (the Trick-or-Treating is already hugely popular), our culinary team has put together quite the spread - well over 25 food/beverage items - for a Tricks And Treats Food Tasting Tour.

Having worked with our chefs the past few weeks, I can tell you that they’ve put a lot of heart and passion into creating and sharing these items, and now it’s your turn to try them.

Several of our food & beverage locations feature a “Trick” and a “Treat:” these are a juxtaposition of traditional fall foods you’re used to, and some with funky twists or additions to make them extra spooky.

Let’s highlight six of my favorites, in no particular order…

1. THE MUMMYavailable at Hugo’s Italian Kitchen

Who doesn’t love a traditional hot dog wrapped in bacon, wrapped in American cheese, wrapped in a bun??

The Mummy can take a dip in the honey mustard sauce for some sheer perfection. Perfect for kids. Guilty pleasure for the adults.

2. I VANT TO DRINK YOUR BLOODavailable at Melt Bar & Grilled, Chickie’s & Pete’s Patio, The Blood Bar and the BackBeatQue Bar

When you’re ready to wash the deliciousness down with a beverage, we’ve put together a concoction worthy to drink in the daylight. It’s Minute Maid® lemonade with an injection of strawberry.

For the adults: “bewitch” it with peach schnapps and Tito’s® vodka (you can do this to a number of our specialty drinks).

There’s also a wide variety of fall ciders and beers from our local and national breweries (cue the Oktoberfest!).

3. THE BEYOND THE GRAVE BURGERavailable at Coasters Drive-In

We’re featuring a variety of tastes and styles for every palette. Those looking for the meatless side of things should sink their fangs into this delicious Beyond Burger®, garnished with a cranberry sauce.

4. PUMPKIN SPICE FUNNEL CAKEavailable at the new French Quarter Confections

There’s nothing basic about this! We start with pumpkin spice-infused funnel cake batter and top it with a cream cheese frosting. Decadent. Sweet. Pumpkin spicy.

5. DAY OF THE DEAD FRIESavailable at Hot Potato

Ok, so my favotie Cedar Point food item gets a makeover, and I didn’t think I’d be a fan at first, but oh myyyy (thank you, George Takei) – these things are ridiculously good.

We take our signature fresh-cut fries and top them with cilantro, lime, garlic sauce, cotija cheese and jalapeños. This one will “trick” your tastebuds.

6. EL CHUPACABRA STREET CORNavailable at Dive In near Celebration Plaza

I am a HUUUUGE fan of corn-on-the-cob. We’ve created two diverse flavors that are anything but corny.

The El Chupacabra is a bit sassy and spicy with cumin chili cilantro butter. The Fall Harvest Corn adds a sweet layer to the chomping experience with a yummy maple butter. Yes, it sounds a little off, but trust me – it works!

Those are just a few samples of what we have. View the full menu of all of our Tricks and Treats.

You can buy your Tricks And Treats Food Tasting card online in advance, or at any of the locations that serve a “Trick” or a “Treat” inside the park. Choose from 3 or 6 tastings.

Specialty and regular beverages are not included in the tasting and can be purchased separately.
