Castaway Bay Update 2
We hope you’re having a great holiday week, perhaps taking a break from all the craziness of the year and spending it with family, friends…maybe you’re on vacation, doing some things you haven’t done in a while…
Or maybe you’re working. In any situation, we hope you’re doing well. We’re looking forward to an amazing 2022, and that includes the introduction of the new Castaway Bay by Cedar Point Resorts.
Work continues on our indoor waterpark hotel, and we have some new construction photos to show you.
Let’s get started with the entrance. It was already a pretty open space, but we’ve opened it up even more and rearranged a few things. Can you spot them in the photo?
One of the biggest changes is around the front desk. The shipwreck that you know and love is still “wrecked,” but we’ve pushed the side of the ship back a little bit so now it appears as a whole display (the side of the ship used to face the front desk).
In that photo, you’ll also notice we’ve taken several walls down and raised the roof (insert hand motion here), resulting in a dramatic change to the hallway that leads to the waterpark, guest rooms and arcade.
Further down the same hallway, the barriers between the dining locations and the hallway have been removed and are being lowered so you have a nice clear view of the water no matter where you are in the space.
Looking the other way, you get an even better view of how open this is at the moment.
Guest room hallways are getting brighter in preps for the theming and final color schemes (more on the overall story and guest rooms coming soon).
But inside the guestrooms, these massive porthole windows will give you the feeling of being right near the sea.
And right near the “sea,” we continue to update the exterior colors, surfaces and outside decking along the waterfront.
Prepare to make a reservation at Castaway Bay in just a few short weeks, and be ready to learn more about the new cast of friends that will be awaiting you at check-in!
