Can You Stand Mondays?
Mondays, right?
So I was scrolling through my Facebook feed today and I received the typical "you have memories" notification for October 19.
And I clicked.
And I said, "awwww."
Here's one of the photos it showed me:
You all remember this, obvs.
It was the last operating day of Mantis, the park's record-breaking stand-up roller coaster.
We converted it to the sit-down, floorless coaster, Rougarou.
Same track and layout. Different trains. More comfortable.
(We all have room for improvement, right? #MotivationMonday).
So then I dug into some other photos we had on hand of that last day and found a few of our last riders who had the opportunity to be on the last two trains in Mantis history:
And then I found Babyface.
No, not the singer.
This one:
That's Jason our General Manager taking his last spin with the crew.
We captured the last moments in a PointCast Minute:
And then after we closed, we caught our maintenance team removing the stand-up trains for the final time. The lead car was donated to the National Roller Coaster Museum & Archives for preservation.
Anyway, some neat stuff.
I'll leave this post with one of my favorite videos we've ever done for a ride. And one of my least favorite faces I've ever made!
Did you ride Mantis on its last day in 2014? Have any fun memories to share? Tell me in the comments below!
