Get ready to go over the falls one last time.

After 31 years of soaking riders (both on the ride and over its splashy bridge), it’s time to “wave” goodbye to the Snake River Falls boat ride.

Opened in 1993, Snake River Falls debuted as the tallest, steepest & fastest water flume ride in the world. Standing 82 feet above Frontier Town, nobody had ever seen anything like it.

Original concept art showcased the ride’s boats climbing up and over a mountain and meandering through a tunnel before plunging down into a giant wave up to 64 feet wide and 30 feet long.

One of the most unique highlights of the ride has always been the exit bridge that traverses over the flume. Over the years, we’ve had a blast watching riders analyze just the right timing to either avoid, or stand right in the middle of, the next boat’s 1,920-square-foot tidal wave…a second way to enjoy the ride, if you will.

Now’s your last chance to do just that.

Snake River Falls will permanently end its operation on Labor Day, September 2, 2024, as we make way for future expansion. What’s that expansion? Of course we can’t tell you that. Yet.

As with previous attractions that have reached the end of their serviceable life, we honor & respect the past but look forward to future FUN for generations to come.

For now, take the plunge and join the more than 15 million guests who have enjoyed their ride over the falls!

The Last Splash - September 2, 2024

Looking for a way to say goodbye to Snake River Falls AND grab some limited-time merch? Here are the details on what's going on for the ride's last day.

Available on Monday, September 2 ONLY, you can pick up one of two collectible & commemorative items at the General Store in Frontier Town!

This one-of-a-kind design tee & button will be available separately for purchase during normal park hours. There are limited quantities, so if you want to grab one, head over to the General Store on Monday.

The Last Riders

A final ride at Cedar Point wouldn't be complete without something to commemorate it, right? 

Snake River Falls is scheduled to close at 6:00 PM on Monday, Sept. 2, and the very last riders on the very last boat will receive a few extra goodies!

First, you'll receive an official signed certificate validating your participation as one of the last public riders in history on Snake River Falls. 

Second, you'll also receive this exclusive collector's mug, not available online or in any gift shop at the park.

And we'll also be around to take photos and video, so if you're one of those lucky last riders, be prepared for some added attention!
