Our associates have proven time and time again that “doing the right thing” comes naturally in all situations, including when they’re not at the park.
Recently, our own Chris Imbriano, a manager at our in-park Starbucks location, was recognized for his integrity, humanity and decision-making outside the park.
The backstory: during his time off, Chris was at his local Starbucks location picking up a beverage when he noticed another guest creating a potentially dangerous situation. He knew something wasn’t right and his instincts told him to stay put to ensure the location’s associates would be ok.
The situation did end up escalating, but Chris was able to keep the team safe until police could arrive. Everyone is doing ok, and thanks to Chris, they had a little extra protection that day.
For springing into action without even thinking about it, Starbucks presented Chris with a very rare recognition: the Star Award. It’s given to Starbucks employees and partners who go above and beyond expectations without being prompted.
His Food & Beverage teammates and General Manager Carrie Boldman joined him for a small ceremony at the Sandusky location. I think he was a little surprised...
