Cedar Point’s media ticket policy allows journalists to become familiar with the park’s many story opportunities while enjoying a day with family or friends.
Media Ticket Guidelines
Our media ticket courtesy is extended to working media only. Tickets may not be requested for family members, friends or anyone not employed by a valid media outlet.
- Tickets are granted to full-time journalists employed by media outlets in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana and West Virginia. Requests from outside of these states are considered, but not guaranteed.
- If you meet the criteria, up to 2 complimentary tickets will be issued per season. Approval is at the sole discretion of the Communications Department.
- Tickets may not be exchanged for a date other than the requested visit date on your application.
- Tickets are not available for employees working in sales, promotions, creative services, general office, engineering or reception. The courtesy is extended to the following full-time staff members:
Daily Newspaper: Owner, General Manager, Publisher, Editor, Reporter, Writer, Photographer
Radio: Owner, General Manager, Program Director, News Director, Reporter, On-Air Personality, News Producer for AM and FM stations
Television: Owner, General Manager, News Director, Assignment Editor, Reporter, On-Air Personality, Host, News Producer, Photographer
Magazines/Freelancers: Magazine or publication must be travel/amusement park/tourism-focused and align with Cedar Point's current-year objectives. Reporters must provide written confirmation of assignment from valid publication.
Theme park enthusiast and fan-based websites, Facebook pages and blogs do not qualify for courtesy tickets.
We are aware that some newspapers, radio stations and television stations prefer their personnel not accept complimentary tickets to events and attractions. We respect this policy and will decline to offer passes to your personnel if you so indicate. Please contact the Communications Team at email@example.com if you wish to have your organization excluded from this list.
Making a Ticket Request
Fill out the form below at least seven (7) days before you'd like to visit. No phone calls please. A valid news media outlet email address must be provided with the request (no addresses with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.). If you are approved, you will receive an email confirmation with instructions on how to pick up your tickets. Not all requests that meet the critera will be approved. Due to the volume of requests we receive, requests that are denied will not receive a response.
