Cedar Point is looking for an experienced Executive Sous Chef to add to our dynamic Food & Beverage Team! We want you to be part of the FUN!

The successful Executive Sous Chef develops menus, recipes, and preparation method for all restaurant and quick services locations in conjunction with Food & Beverage management. Works hands-on while serving in a leadership role. Directly supervises kitchen personnel with responsibility for hiring, initiating corrective action and developing the kitchen personnel. Is also responsible for the ongoing and constant food education of associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, create, guide production and evaluate the quality of finished food products for all formats, keeping within the required cost and meeting established timelines.
  • Under the direction of the Executive Chef and Vice President, develop the recipes to be used and standardizing the production of recipes so as to ensure quality is offered at all times.
  • Establishing the techniques of food presentation and ensures all food quality standards are consistently maintained throughout the division.
  • Ensuring that all kitchen equipment works and is maintained properly.
  • Responsible for direct and indirect supervision of kitchen associates in one or more departments. Ensures all food preparation personnel are properly trained and certified to perform their respective duties to meet division standards.
  • Ensures all local, state, and federal regulations for food service operations are effectively being carried out in all kitchen facilities.
  • Ensures all company and division policies are being carried out effectively in all kitchen facilities in conjunction with department managers.
  • Performs regularly scheduled product testing of food items to ensure consistency of ingredient profiles, product specification, and quality are present.
  • Coordinates the food R & D program for the division in conjunction with food management.
  • Informs the Executive Chef of all developments arising within the division on a daily basis.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree or related culinary degree with 5-7 years of industry and culinary experience.
  • ServSafe and ServSafe Alcohol training and certification.
  • The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on customer services is essential to success in this role.
  • Previous experience with control food and labor cost, demonstration cooking, menu development, and pricing and development of culinary team preferred. A love and a passion for food plus a good sense of taste and smell.
  • Good customer service – ability to offer Best Day Experience.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Good attention to detail. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as proven organizational skills.

Responsible for leading all paid consumer marketing efforts including mass advertising, online promotions, retail and local partnerships, TV/radio promotions, season pass, CRM and email marketing to achieve annual park and resort attendance and revenue goals. Develops annual integrated marketing communications plans for Cedar Point, Soak City & Wildwater Kingdom theme and water parks, Cedar Point Resorts, external restaurants and marinas. Serves as brand manager for all marketing communications, working with the VP, to manage the agency of record as well as internal/external design resources across all paid consumer channels. Maintains overall all consumer pricing and promotional offers, attendance and expense budgets for the division. All guest facing collateral and in park marketing efforts for all Cedar Point properties managed under his/her direction. Manages 4 fulltime employees plus seasonal staff.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees all revenue and attendance for consumer-purchased ticket and pass products for Cedar Point theme park, Soak City, Cedar Point Resorts and Wildwater Kingdom water park including general park admission, online advance sales, mass retailer ticket/gift cards, discount coupon programs, season pass and resort tickets and packages.
  • Develops annual integrated communications plans for Cedar Point theme park, Soak City, Cedar Point Resorts and Wildwater Kingdom water park to achieve annual revenue, attendance and room night goals.
  • Develops the parks’ business objectives, goals and marketing needs for key programs and campaigns that cross multiple Consumer paid, earned and owned marketing channels as part of the Corporate Marketing communications process.
  • Analyzes Consumer Marketing sales performance on a weekly basis, using data to identify business trends to accurately forecast results and recommend reactive and proactive in-season marketing tactics.
  • Park liaison for any Consumer insights/brand tracking, demographic or guest satisfaction research.
  • Day-to-day advertising agency management for Cedar Point, Soak City, WildWater Kingdom & Cedar Point Resorts creative, media planning, execution and advertising effectiveness/metrics.
  • Directs internal and external design resources for local advertising and in house production needs; provides creative direction and approvals; assists with copywriting when needed. Supervises all print collateral and in park/resort signage creative development and production.
  • Serves as brand manager for the Marketing division for all paid, earned, owned and sales channels to assure brand standards and messaging are being used consistently and effectively.
  • Park representative and liaison for all local, regional and state tourism marketing and advertising opportunities as well as local market partnerships with other entertainment attractions, teams and venues.
  • Oversees all ancillary marketing efforts for WildWater Kingdom, Castaway Bay, outside restaurants, marinas and HR recruitment, season pass and promotions areas.
  • Responsible for maintaining and communicating annual pricing, promotional offers and operational calendars for Marketing Division.
  • Responsible for developing and overseeing Consumer Marketing expense budget as well as Marketing divisional rollup.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Vice President of Marketing.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates annual season pass marketing plans for Cedar Point, Soak City and WildWater Kingdom within overall company marketing plan outlining strategies and tactics to achieve annual attendance and revenue goals.
  • Collects, analyzes and compares season pass sales and visitation data on a daily and weekly basis to accurately forecast program results and impact on park goals and operations for all parks.
  • Creates season pass value by securing external offers, discounts and perks for passholders accessible via an exclusive season pass online portal; recommends
  • Creates and executes season pass holder-only events, visitation incentives and referral programs to drive lifetime value.
  • Responsible for providing online content to promote season pass sales, value, benefits and upsell opportunities in earned and owned media.
  • Spearheads all CRM, direct mail and email efforts for Season Pass and Cedar Point Resorts including offers, content development for weekly e-newsletters, promotional, visit stimulation and pass activation emails.
  • Partners in the negotiation and solicitation of season pass TV and radio added-value media promotions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates annual promotional and e-commerce marketing plans for Cedar Point, Soak City, Cedar Point Resorts and WildWater Kingdom within overall annual strategic marketing plan to achieve promotional attendance and revenue goals.
  • Manages rollout of all advance sale, online promotional offers in conjunction with Corporate Business Planning Director, writes and verifies online copy and messaging; works closely with mobile ticketing support on set up for all parks’ online and mobile sales efforts.
  • Solicits, negotiates and manages the overall Mass Retailer partner relationships and program terms for all parks.
  • Solicits, negotiates and executes retail / online discount coupon partner programs directly and/or through sponsorship partners; oversees creative development and approves joint advertising efforts.
  • Establishes annual promotional calendar and messaging map. Sets up promotional offers within the ticketing system that allows for tracking of redemptions and comparisons to prior year efforts.
  • Participates in evaluation and negotiation of TV and radio added-value promotional support in conjunction with annual media buys.
  • Coordinates advertising trade schedules for both agency purchased TV, cable, radio and print media.
  • Works with Marketing Manager to identify advertising support for promotional partners as part of overall park advertising plan and coordinates partner approvals.
  • Directs internal planning & design team or other outside creative resources on promotional creative design and production for all parks.
  • Develops and maintains the marketing e-commerce sales and promotional calendar for online sales and upsell efforts.
