Employment at Cedar Point

Cedar Point performs pre-employment background checks on all associates 18 years of age or older. Associateswill not be permitted to check-in for work until their background checks have been received and reviewed.
Associates are paid bi-weekly. Each pay period begins on Monday and ends on Sunday. Cedar Point utilizes an electronic pay card system. If you prefer a direct deposit program, please bring your bank account information with you when you on-board at Human Resources. Direct deposit accounts can be set-up to any bank (checking or savings account) in the U.S.

Associates should come prepared to cover their food expenses for a period of twenty-one days before receiving their first paycheck. Cedar Point has a full-service, inexpensive Associate Cafeteria "Best Day Bistro" where associates can enjoy meals at minimal cost.
All associates are required to provide original, unexpired valid proof of employment eligibility when they arrive for work at Cedar Point. Additionally, if an associate is under the age of 19, a Proof of Age document is also required by the State of Ohio (acceptable documents include a work permit, passport, birth certificate, or baptismal record that contains the birthdate). Any questions regarding proper work authorization should be forwarded to Human Resources. Associates without proper documentation will not be permitted to check-in for work or associate housing (if applicable). For payroll purposes only, all associates will be required to present a valid, original Social Security card.

Work uniforms are provided free of charge. Free laundry service for uniforms is also provided.

You will be scheduled for orientations and training. Beyond the initial company orientations, your work schedules are created in your department. Please check with your supervisor to see where and when your schedules are posted. Most work schedules are dependent on park attendance
The climate in Sandusky is usually hot and humid July to September. We recommend that all employees drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. Also if you are working outdoors, please wear sunscreen.
Live with the friends you work with! Inexpensive, gated community living is available to seasonal employees who qualify.

Quick Reminders

  • Asscoiates must be 18 years of age and your home address must be more than 30 miles from Cedar Point to qualify for housing.
  • Rent is paid through weekly payroll deduction.
  • Housing is assigned upon arrival at Cedar Point. Associates may choose housing facility when they arrive based on what is available.
  • All housing at Cedar Point is gender segregated and multiple occupancy.
  • All housing buildings are designated as Non-Smoking. Violators will lose their housing deposit and may incur additional cleaning fees and/or face eviction for failure to comply..
  • All housed associates must be checked-in with Cedar Point and possess a valid Cedar Point ID in order to check-in to housing.
  • Quiet hours enforced throughout all housing facilities from 12 midnight to 9 a.m. daily.
  • Free bus shuttle transportation is provided to and from work and to local shopping areas, so you don't need a car
  • Cedar Point has laundry facilities on site for a minimal cost.
Bed linens, blankets, a pillow, fan, shower shoes, alarm clock, padlock for locker (Commons Dorms only), wristwatch, personal entertainment (mp3 player, laptop, etc.). Cedar Point is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property while in associate housing.

Small refrigerators (3.5 cubic feet or less) are permitted while living in the dorms.

Cedars Dorms  

Opened in 1915 as one of Cedar Point's premiere hotels and is now a summer camp style facility. Each room houses 2 to 3, with community bathroom facilities located on each floor. Furnished with beds, dressers and clothes rack. Building is not equipped with air conditioning or heat.

TV lounge, laundry facilities, employee store, Cedar Point medical clinic are all located in the Cedars dormitories.

Cedars dorms are within walking distance of the associate Cafeteria, beach, Soak City and all work locations within the park.
 

Bayside Apartments – Building is gender-segregated by apartment

Each apartment contains 2 or 3 bedrooms, bathroom, full kitchen and living room. The bedrooms are all multiple occupancy (4-8 people per apartment). Basic furnishings provided: beds, dressers, lamps, chairs, couches, end tables, dining room table and chairs and appliances (stove and refrigerator). Building is equipped with heat.

Located within 1 mile of park and within walking distance of the Associate Recreation Center. Free bus shuttle transportation provided to and from work and to local shopping areas. Laundry facilities on premise.
 

Commons Apartments – Building is gender-segregated by apartment   

Each apartment contains 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and living room. The bedrooms are all multiple occupancy (11 people per apartment). Basic furnishings provided: beds, dressers, lamps, chairs, couches, end tables, dining room table and chairs. Building is equipped with air conditioning in the living room.

Laundry facilities and associate store on premise. Outdoor grills and picnic tables located in courtyard. Located within 1 mile of park and within walking distance of the Employee Recreation Center.
 

Commons Dorms – Gender-segregated by floor  

Each room houses 2 to 3 people, with community bathroom facilities located on each floor. Furnished with beds, dressers and lockers (must provide own lock) for personal use. Building is equipped with air conditioning and heat.

Located within 1 mile of park and within walking distance of the Associate Recreation Center. Laundry facilities on premise.
A $100 deposit is required upon check-in. The deposit can be paid in the form of cash, certified check, or money order. Any employees that do not provide the $100 deposit will not be able to check into Associate Housing.

  • Commons Dorms: $5.71 per day
  • Commons Apartments: $5.00 per day
  • Bayside Apartments: $6.00 per day

Non Cedar Point Associates (Lessees, Concessionaires, etc.)

  • $7.25 per day per resident

All housing is based on availability upon arrival. Rooms cannot be reserved ahead of time.
A number of seasonal positions at Cedar Point may qualify for internship credit at your college or university. Check with your school advisor to see if one of our positions will meet the internship criteria required for your major.
