Welcome to the New Site

We don't do this very often, and for obvious reasons. But the new look and feel of cedarpoint.com is something we've been working on for almost a year. 

It takes a mountain of people to create, design and program such a monumental amount of awesome. Together with our corporate web gurus and an external partner or two, we've landed on this exciting design.

So why do it? Well, first and foremost, it was time for a fresh look. When sites are new, there's a lot of excitement. Eventually, that wears off and we all crave something different. We think this look is fresh, vibrant and cohesive.

Second, and this one's a biggy, we wanted responsive design. What does that mean? It means that our site will look the same and load consistently across multiple devices. So whether you're visiting on a smart phone, your iPad, a desktop or laptop, the site automagically adjusts to its surroundings and navigation is simple and smart. 

Third, by using this responsive design, the back-end updating is easier. Instead of going to multiple places to change information, we can do it in one central spot. This is great for guests because you'll find information easier to search for, and the risk of finding different information in different places is reduced. 

Fourth, we wanted a better way to show off what we have. Sure, we're roller coasters and rides. But there's so much more. Hotels, a mile-long beach, the new Cedar Point Shores Water Park, jet skis, parasailing, boat and fishing charters, a marina, behind-the-scenes tours...I could go on and on. This is the best way to show the vast and diverse activities we have at Cedar Point. You'll want to stay multiple days and experience all we have to offer.

You've also probably noticed a change in our logo. Your eyes are not deceiving you. With the refreshing of many things here at the park, this was an opportunity to do the same with our logo. It will be a gradual rollout, so things with our logo will change when it makes sense to change them.

As for the blog itself, that has changed, too. We'll be introducing a few new authors to tell some of their stories for you. You can also now comment via Facebook at the bottom of each post. We'll respond to some questions / comments as we have in the past. 

Finally, the site is by no means "done." Over the next few months, you'll see some slight changes as we learn and tweak to make it the best tool as possible for trip planning. You may see items move, colors change, photos refreshed, etc. It's definitely a work in progress.
