Our Latest Award

Over the weekend, I was honored to attend the Themed Entertainment Association’s Thea Awards in Los Angeles.

It’s a collection of some of the most talented creative individuals in not only the theme park business, but museums, shows, technology, traveling exhibits and more.

Special shout-out to Knott’s Berry Farm for their Thea Award for Ghost Town Alive. If you have a chance to experience this interactive storytelling in Ghost Town this summer, do it.

The award ceremony honors outstanding achievements in the creation of compelling places and experiences. This includes things like educational exhibits, theme parks, museums, aquariums, shows, special events and more. Awards can be given to owners and content creators/producers.

I was in the room with some amazing creators and people I’ve looked up to. And what a privilege to share the night with them. I geeked out a little. True story.

We were given the Thea’s Classic Award, presented to an achievement that has withstood the test of time. In our case, Cedar Point is that achievement, as it approaches its 150th Anniversary in 2020.

Thank you to everyone at TEA for this honor – and here’s to another 150 years of summer fun on Lake Erie!
