Hey there - I’m John and I’ve been a part of the Cedar Point team for four seasons and before that, I spent a few years in South Florida. My favorite ride is Giant Wheel and my favorite food in the park is Salty Caramel Fudge Truffle ice cream from Toft’s. I also love Skee-Ball and all of our arcade games.
I work alongside Tony and my day-to-day duties include managing our social media, website updates, e-newsletters and producing video content.
So, today is a big day. It’s a day to celebrate what we’re most known for - our roller coasters.
Happy National Roller Coaster Day!
We’re A Place Like No Other™ but we’re still, and will always be, The Roller Coaster Capital of the World®. Our collection is truly unique - a vast diversity of marveling machines.
Oftentimes, our coasters are categorized by how tall you must be to ride. Instead, let’s take a look at our coasters by “coaster life journey”…from wee little park guests all the way up to seasoned riders, or as we call them, Ride Warriors.
Camp Snoopy has two roller coasters for thrillseekers-in-training: Woodstock Express and Wilderness Run. Both of these prepare little ones to be roller coaster fans for life and have some great twists and turns, to boot. Earn your stripes, kid.
These next six are all a good fit for kids approaching their pre-teen years or for anyone who likes an adrenaline rush…but maybe isn’t quite ready to conquer too many inversions or anything over 200 feet.
These are Iron Dragon, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Pipe Scream, Corkscrew, Blue Streak and Gemini. All of these are unique in their own ways - from the throwback layout and airtime hills of Blue Streak to Pipe Scream’s giggle-induced format. Riding these will most definitely pack a punch.
Then it’s on to the big ones. If you have the courage to ride each of these then you are truly a coaster hero.
We've got six coasters over 200 feet tall - Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Magnum XL-200, Wicked Twister, Valravn and our newest thrill machine, Steel Vengeance.
GateKeeper, Maverick, Rougarou and Raptor are not for the faint of heart, either. All ten of these get your adrenaline rushing, knock your socks off and tattoo a smile on your cheeks.
That brings the total to 18. There is no other place on this green and blue Earth that has a better collection. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than to ride ‘em all in one day - so that’s exactly what I’m going to do right now! Ride on!
