Light Up the Point 2019

The park at night is absolutely mesmerizing. The colorful, bright lights are gorgeous, and you cannot help but feel transported to another world. Add great food, friends and family, a sandy beach and booming fireworks, and then you have the complete package for a magical night.

July 4, 5 and 6, Cedar Point is illuminating the sky at Light Up the Point. We definitely know how to celebrate Independence Day with style. And guess what. It is free with Cedar Point admission (cue the oohs and ahhs)!

Yes, you may have seen fireworks before, but our Light Up the Point fireworks are like no other. After a fun day in the park, get a show on the shore and head back for more fun. We are open until midnight all three nights!

The fireworks start at 10:30, weather permitting each night.

If you are looking for an even BETTER night, upgrade to the VIP experience for the best seats in the house. Skip to the front of the sand, put on your special 3-D glasses and grab a chair in the exclusive VIP seating area to enjoy the show. You also can enjoy a classic Fourth of July meal with the VIP all-you-can-eat buffet that includes brats, mini hot dogs, a mac ‘n cheese bar, chips and soft drinks. Is your mouth watering yet?

If you’re looking for dessert, join us for the All-American Pie-Eating Contest each day at 1 p.m. on the Gossip Gulch Stage in Frontier Town. There are a lineup of amazing prizes for the lucky winners!

Along with celebrating Independence Day, we are also honoring and thanking members of our armed forces, veterans and first responders. They will receive FREE admission to Cedar Point on July 4 - 7 with an applicable ID. These members can also purchase discount tickets for family and friends as well.

Also, with the popularity of the fireworks, we know everyone has a tendency to leave at the same time and you may experience a delay when heading off the peninsula. But we’re open for extended hours until midnight, so why not stay in the park (or come back in) and enjoy all of our rides during that time?

If you have not seen Cedar Point during Light Up the Point, check it out this year! It is the perfect way to spend the day honoring our nation’s independence. We hope to see you there!
