In just a few weeks, we’ll be unleashing Steel Vengeance to you. There are already several chances to ride it prior to general park opening on May 5. 

However, if you’re a writer, run a social media account dedicated to Cedar Point (or coasters), take great photography, or are just starting out with your own social media channel that focuses on thrill rides and coasters, I have a proposition for you.

Before any of these preview events happen, there’s a media event. That’s where journalists from around the country visit to ride Steel Vengeance and produce stories on it. This is also their chance to get great photography of the ride in action.

I’m looking for 15 additional social-savvy guests to come and share their thoughts and their photos of the ride with their audience. Your audience can be 50. Your audience can be 50,000. Doesn't matter.

Note – this is NOT a general contest for anyone to enter – you must have an existing social media channel (on Twitter / Instagram / Facebook / YouTube) dedicated to rides and roller coasters, and you must already have content on these channels.

Are you interested? We need a few things from you, all in the same email:

  • Your social channel (give us a link)
  • Describe your social channel in a few sentences (what you cover, why you have it, etc.)
  • Your age and location
  • This stuff:

We want to see how you’d produce content about a certain subject. So, for this exercise, we're going to use something you should have easy access to: a fork. It can be any kind of fork. Plastic, stainless, fancy or otherwise.

Photograph it, write about it, video it – tell us why this fork is the best fork you’ve ever seen. Or tell us what you like and don’t like about the fork.

Post it on your official social channel with the hashtag #ThisForkIsForSV and provide the link (in the email above) to that post or video.

Note that you should provide this content in the format you normally work with. If you normally write blogs, write about it. If you have a YouTube channel, we want to see a video. If you Instagram, take the best pic and post the best words about that fork that you’ve ever posted. Treat this with the same quality you'd give to any of your other posts.

There is no limit on how long any of this should be, but do follow instructions – if you don’t, you will not be considered.
