HalloWeekends Tips

October 10, 2019

There are just 9 operating days left in our 2019 season. Can you even believe this??

I suppose we just have to accept this. It’s probably hard to ride Steel Vengeance when “wind chill factor” becomes the norm around here, let alone starting it up without it being cranky in the cold!

You still have some time to check out everything at HalloWeekends and take some last rides of the season.

So allow me to share some tips to make your final visit a fun one.

The Weekend Sandwich – As we recommend to guests throughout the summer, Saturdays tend to be the most popular. So during HalloWeekends, why not visit on Friday night when all the haunted attractions are up and running? There’s limited ride availability, but it’s still tons of fun. Or, visit on Sunday and take advantage of The Great Pumpkin Fest family activities PLUS all indoor haunted houses? (Now does the sandwich reference make sense? Saturday is the filling? I digress.)

Visit When You Want – If you haven’t heard about the 2020 Gold Pass, allow me to take this opportunity to provide an instant link to learn more about it and purchase it for the low price of $99 (we know this price will be solid until at least the end of HalloWeekends). When you buy the Gold Pass, you can visit Cedar Point whenever you want, whether that’s for a few hours Friday night, a half day on Sunday or an entire weekend next June.

Neat Eats – We probably don’t need to tell you that waiting in any line is not a thing people enjoy. Here, the airport, the return counter the day after Christmas. So we’ve made this a little better when it comes to eating on Saturdays at HalloWeekends. Try the new Day of the Fed buffet meal or the themed Night of the Living Fed buffet. Both options have a variety of food items for the whole family, plus, you don’t have to wait in significant lines to grab that special treat.

Be an Early Riser – We know family and work schedules are tough, and sometimes, a Saturday is your only option. The best advice is to arrive early and take advantage of the Gold Pass benefit of 30-minute Golden Entry or the Platinum Pass / Resorts benefit of 60-minute Early Entry. We tend to see the most guests arrive between 3 and 7 p.m. Make sure you use Cedar Point Drive (i.e. the causeway) and not the Cedar Point Chaussee (that road along the lakefront). Oh, and if you're directed to park "in the back" by Cedar Point Shores Waterpark, no worries - you can still get right in through the Magnum Entrance Gate!

We’re More Than Rides – While everyone is waiting to ride big favorites like Steel Vengeance, Maverick and Top Thrill Dragster, why not take in some live entertainment? The Great Pumpkin Parade is still going strong every Saturday & Sunday at 4, Midnight Syndicate is here with an all-new show in the Jack Aldrich Theatre and Boneyard Battleground is a sight to see (geared toward adults) every Friday & Saturday night.

We’ll Have You Over – Stay with us! We have hotels! A lot of guests don’t even know that we have on-site hotels and really close hotels for a variety of tastes and budgets. Take a long weekend and stay overnight. Then you don’t have to drive!  And your room is literally steps away from Magnum XL-200 and Steel Vengeance. How cool is that?? And there are special packages that include the Gold Pass, and you get Early Entry into the park one hour before the general public (including Fridays!).

So those are just a few that we’ve thrown together. Do you have some HalloWeekends secrets/tips to share with new visitors? Let us know in the comments below, and we’ll see you in the fog!
