Finishing Touches

Hi friends! My name is Kristy Bacni and this is my 11th season at the park.

I’ve had a lot of responsibilities during my time here thus far, but my favorite has been working on the Communications Team here at Cedar Point. I also love elephant ears (and yes, they are WAY better than funnel cakes), and my favorite ride will always be Millennium Force.

As the Digital Communications Manager, I work with Tony and my day-to-day responsibilities include managing all of our social media channels, website and mobile app updates and a ton of other cool things. I love being able to go out in the park to see smiling faces.

As we inch closer to Opening Day 2019, we wanted to share some new happenings that you may not have seen.

Magnum XL-200 turns 30 this year! For this special anniversary, we have a fun, new sign addition at the ride entrance, but that’s not all.

We’re bringing back some nostalgia - remember back in the day when there was fog and sound effects in the tunnel?

Well, they're coming BACK! The third tunnel will come alive once again with all that glorious fog, futuristic sounds and special lighting.

Magnum isn’t the only anniversary this year. Cedar Creek Mine Ride is celebrating its golden anniversary – 50 years old in 2019. To commemorate this milestone, we’re adding a new soundtrack in the station, sound effects in the first tunnel (as you leave the station) and you'll encounter some "old friends" from a former attraction as you re-enter the station at the end of your ride.

Also, keep an eye out for the mine shaft on the midway – you might see some fun effects there throughout the summer.

Over at the Jack Aldrich Theatre, Beach Blanket Beagle surfs into the park! This is the first time that Snoopy and his friends have had a dedicated show at this location, and the set is brand new. There's even a real "beach" at the front of the stage.

We’ve also made some hefty improvements to some food and beverage establishments. Grandstand Refreshments (in front of Top Thrill Dragster) is now a Coca-Cola Freestyle location to quench your thirst.

We've already told you about the new Hugo’s Italian Kitchen, and it is looking spectacular. The inside has been completely transformed with Italian flair and there will be a entirely new menu. Enjoy fresh-made pasta, pizza, chicken parmesan sandwiches and more.

My favorite food and beverage addition has to be BackBeatQue, over near the Resorts Entrance. The theming mixes a bit of Motown and Rock 'n' Roll, complete with awesome wall décor and lighting fixtures.

Make sure to read the cassettes that line the wall. You’re sure to see some CP Easter eggs like "Sagebrush Sue and the Tumbleweed Trio" along famous 80’s and 90’s classics.

Not only is the food going to be out-of-this-world good, there’s an outdoor patio to relax and enjoy your meal. There will even be performances on the stage featuring The Backbeat Quartet starting on May 25.

Speaking of new, we’re really, really excited for you to see Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island. But you'll have to wait - just a few more weeks!
