Congrats, Lifeguards!

Today, we're talkin' lifeguards.

Particularly, how awesome they are.

Now and again, we're asked how we ensure that our associates are performing to the best of their abilities, particularly in the area of safety.

Much like our ride operations team who has a training program of their own, lifeguards go through their extensive training with the help of resources from Ellis & Associates, the leader in water park safety and training.

Now and again, E&A will show up, unannounced, to perform an "audit" on our team. Audits are basically surprise inspections. We have no time to prepare, so it's a real-life check-up.

Just recently, our associates at Castaway Bay indoor water park were given a perfect score (known as "exceeds").

It should be known that our lifeguards at Castaway Bay and at Cedar Point Shores frequently receive the "exceeds" score throughout the summer. They're on top of their game.

But that's not all.

One lifeguard received the "Golden Guard" award, given to someone who is SO good, that the auditor is taken aback by how well they uphold the standards of guarding.

That lifeguard is Kayla. She's been with Castaway Bay for just under a year. She started as a lifeguard and was promoted to Supervisor back in November.

Congrats, Kayla!

When you're at the new Cedar Point Shores Water Park this year, or if you pay a visit to Castaway Bay, you'll know a little more about what goes on behind the scenes to keep you and your family safe!
