Before We Had Planet Coaster

Long before games like Planet Coaster existed, kids like us (get off my lawn!) had to get creative with recreating our hobby.

Seeing a photo pop up in my Twitter feed took me back. Back to a time when I prayed someone out there would create a working model that I could look at whenever I wanted.

Those days are now here, with the additional advantage of simulators and games. But we're going old school in this blog post.

The photo I saw is of 10-year-old Sawyer from Ohio.

Sawyer, like many of us, loves Cedar Point. So much that he decided to get crafty and recreate some of our famous coasters in a different kind of way - and all after visiting the park for the first time last month.

Some toothpicks. Some paint. Hot glue and ingenuity. All in just two days.

Sawyer loves Steel Vengeance (who doesn't?!) because it's "epic, smooth and long." That's exactly what we were going for!

It's always amazing to read and see how Cedar Point inspires FUN fans of all ages. Although Sawyer says he wants to live here, we're not quite ready for apartments or condos! And oddly, I had this very same conversation with a guest in the park yesterday - she wanted to live here, too! Willy Wonka style!

Here's all the coaster crafts:

Ride on, Sawyer. And don't let anyone ever suppress that creativity.
