Prepping for More Screams

Now that we're closed during the week, it's time for us to prep for my favorite time of year, HalloWeekends!

Don't get me wrong - I do love the summer. But there's something special about fall that makes me giddy. It's the weather, the decorations, the changing of the leaves, the roller coasters, the scares.

Back to the weather. I sweat. I hate humidity. Hate it. So the less sweating for me, the better. But I digress.

Let's take a quick spin around the park and see what's going on, shall we?

We begin in the back of the park near Mean Streak. Eden Musee is a recent addition to HalloWeekends. Have you been through it? I haven't. So I'll probably be pleasantly surprised on Friday the 13th...

Nothing to see here, since it's up all year. But after peeking inside, I'd hate to see what's lurking in the dark.

Over at Thunder Canyon, the crew has finished up operations for the season and they've cleaned out the flume. So it's time to add props. No corn in CornStalkers just yet, but it's coming soon:

Lonely little demon just hangin' out. She'll have company soon enough.

Over at the new Zombie High School, it's all about paint. So that means I couldn't go any further than this particular hallway.

But holy cow. I've been taken back. About 20 years.

There's still lots to be done in here. And there are more surprises planned. You're seeing a blank canvas, if you will.

When YOU go through, the lights will be out, students will be roaming the halls and I'm almost positive the lights will malfunction.

And if you get a second to stop (which you won't), you can take in a good book:

Why wasn't that around when I was in high school?

Finally, our culinary team mentioned to me that they have a little special something to add to the dessert at Boeckling's Banquet. If you haven't heard about it, it's a fine dining experience right smack dab in the middle of the G.A. Boeckling's Eerie Estate haunted house.

This is just a piece of the final dessert, but hey - I won't turn a chocolate coffin sample down!

You can learn more about the attractions, haunts, family activities and Boeckling's Banquet by visiting our HalloWeekends website. We open the event on Friday the 13th!

Oh, and I'm aware that the DragsterCam is having issues. We're currently looking into it, so please be patient!
