Eat More Fiber. Scratch That. No, Don't Scratch That.« Go Back Monday, March 25th, 2013
There's a lot going on in today's blog, so buckle in. (See what I did there?)
Fiber. It's good for your diet. It's good for your health. It's also good for GateKeeper.
When I say "fiber" in this sense tho, I'm referring to fiberglass. And please, no scratching.
Over the weekend, I snuck up to the coaster to confirm what I had heard. The trains are getting dressed. Luckily, they didn't have to pull the curtain to do so.
The signature "face" is not yet on this train, but I'll show you what they look like once fully clothed. Love it.
In other GateKeeper news, we've garnered some fans of the ride even before they've had a chance to ride it. Even before WE'VE had a chance to ride it. One of them is 14-year-old Colin from Fairborn, OH.
For his English class project, he had to write a poem. And I thought I'd share it with you. It's called, "Thriller."
Blue as the sky.
Lift hill so high.
Hanging off the track.
I can't wait to go back.
Jumping over the entrance.
Twists and turns away.
Loop of fun.
Then all is done.
For the record, Colin got an A on this project. Nicely done! Oh, and Colin...your next assignment: a haiku! (Gesundheit.)
Finally, webcams. I've been looking through your suggestions and there are some good ones. But here are two that I know are for sure:
1. DragsterCam. The view is simply too good to move. Some of you wanted us to turn it around to see Frontiertown, but I've tried it before and the support columns on the ride will obstruct the view.
2. GateKeeper LIVE cam. In some form, we hope to have live streaming video of the ride. Whether this is the ride's entry plaza or the main entrance, I don't know for sure.
The other two cams will be static images like before. And I'm still taking ideas. Even if you don't see it in the comments below, rest assured I'm looking at them.
If you were wondering, I am NOT having a case of the Mondays. Although it's snowing a little outside, how can you possibly be cranky when you work at America's Roller Coast?!
