Pet Chek

Pets are not allowed inside Cedar Point (except for service animals). Pets are not allowed at Cedar Point's hotels, on the beach, at the swimming pools or in the picnic areas. Cedar Point provides accommodations for pets on a daily basis at Pet Chek (overnight lodging is not available). Pet Chek is located on the bayside of the parking lot near the Cedar Point Marina across from the bus parking area.

Policies

  • Reservations are not accepted.
  • An individual registering a pet must be at least 18 years of age and must sign a registration sheet to receive a cage tag. The same individual must check out the pet, sign the registration sheet and return the cage tag or be subject to a fine.
  • ALL BREEDS of dogs are accepted as long as they are under control. (Any animal that can be SAFELY kept at Pet Chek will be accepted.)
  • All types of animals are accepted providing there is a cage of the appropriate size available. (Birds can be left in their own cages and then placed inside one of the Pet Chek cages. Ferrets and similar animals must be in their own cages.)
  • Shot records are not required.
  • Pets are permitted* at Camper Village at no extra charge but must be kept on a leash at the guest's site and must not be left unattended. Pets can also be boarded at Pet Chek during park operating hours for a fee on a space-available basis. (*Pets are not permitted at Lighthouse Point cottages and cabins.) Pets are permitted in the Cedar Point Marina but must be kept on a leash.

Hours

  • Pet Chek is open daily throughout the regular operating season from one hour prior to scheduled park opening to one hour after the park closes.
  • Pet Chek opens at 11 a.m. on Saturdays, 10 a.m. on Sundays during HalloWeekends.
  • Pet Chek is open 5:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. Fridays during HalloWeekends.

Food

Owner may supply food or Cedar Point will provide dry dog food at no additional charge. Water will be provided.

Cost

$15.00 PER DAY, PER ANIMAL. If requested, two or more pets may be housed together, but owners still pay $15.00 per animal.

Special Care

Special care, such as physically handling an animal by Cedar Point personnel, cannot be allowed. (Host is not authorized to perform special care such as handling, walking or feeding pets at special times.)

Pet Quarters

Very large pets (German Shepherds, Great Danes, St. Bernards, etc.) are each placed in one of six runs. Smaller pets are placed in sheltered cages. Cages are fiberglass with metal fronts and come in two sizes. Cages assigned by hostess on duty. This area is enclosed and climate-controlled with the use of ventilation fans or air conditioning as needed.
