Trip Tips for Mom and Dad

  • Cedar Point recommends visiting on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, when crowds are smaller. Check our Operating Hours for the day you plan to attend.
  • Make sure you and your children are dressed for comfort. Cotton is the most practical fabric, since it's cool and dries quickly after getting wet. Broken in sneakers are the best bet for footwear.
  • Be prepared for all types of weather, (and rides!). Conditions along the Lake Erie shore can change unexpectedly. Cedar Point rents lockers to store extra clothes. Lockers are located near the front main gate (right side) for all-day rental. The rental fee for these lockers is $5.00 for a small locker and $8.00 for a large locker. An additional $10.00 refundable deposit will be returned when the key is returned. Lockers are also located near Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Wicked Twister, Magnum exit, Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon . The Rental fee for these lockers is $1.00 (small) and $2.00 (large) and is paid each time the locker is opened. (Change machines are located near the lockers.) All-day locker rental is available at the Soak City Bathhouse ($5.00 rental fee and $10.00 deposit). On busy days lockers are likely to fill up quickly. Gift shops in the park also offer a wide variety of clothing for all types of weather.
  • Pack sunscreen. Even on a cloudy day, the sun's rays can pierce through the clouds and reflect off the midways. Sunscreen is also available in many shops throughout the park.
  • When you enter the park, point out an employee dressed in a uniform and tell your children to find someone dressed in that uniform should they become lost. Lost Persons/Message Centers are located in Kiddy Kingdom and the Town Hall Museum .
  • Children may be "officially" measured (and receive a wristband if they meet height requirements) at Park Operations and Town Hall. For the safety of your child, a standard play shoe which does not contribute excessively to the child's height will be permitted. Platform shoes, for example, are not permitted to be worn to help a child meet a height requirement. Cedar Point reserves the right to ask that shoes be removed to ensure that a child's height is not being artificially enhanced or manipulated.
  • Children encountering Cedar Point for the first time can be overwhelmed. It's a good idea to prepare them for what to expect, possibly by planning your visit in advance. Request a copy of our brochure online.
  • Schedule quiet times between periods of high activity. The Frontier Trail, Live Shows, and Town Hall Museum all offer relaxing entertainment.
  • Children's meals are available in Kiddy Kingdom, Camp Snoopy, along the main midway and in Frontiertown. The park's full-service restaurants also offer children's menus. Natural fruit juices and milk are also available throughout the park. FREE ice water is obtainable at all food stands throughout the park.
  • First Aid Stations are located in Kiddy Kingdom and Frontiertown. They provide warming for bottles and privacy for nursing.
  • Baby-sitting services are available for guests of our hotels only. Service may be requested at the Hotel Services Desk in the Hotel Lobby. Availability is not guaranteed.
  • Bottles can be warmed at the First Aid Stations and at any of the park's sit-down restaurants.
  • Facilities are located in all of the rest rooms in the park. Miscellaneous baby supplies are available for purchase at the Marina Store and Infant Shop at the Front Rental Center.
  • A limited number of strollers are available at the Rental Center near the Main Entrance.
