Hotel Breakers:

The beachside Hotel Breakers has been a summer tradition for families for more than 10 decades. Built in 1905, the historic hotel will celebrate its 105th anniversary this summer.

With 650 rooms and suites, the Hotel Breakers is one of the largest hotels in Ohio. Situated between the beach and the amusement park, the Breakers’ beautiful location offers comfortable accommodations, convenience and turn-of-the-century charm. For young families, there are several PEANUTS-themed suites.

It also features the Tomo Hibachi restaurant, an ice cream parlor, specialty shops, access to the Cedar Point Beach, two outdoor pools, and a spacious whirlpool with waterfalls and rock formations. New this summer will be a full-service Perkins Restaurant located in the lobby of the hotel. Complimentary WiFi service is available in the lobby, rotunda and Breakers East Conference Center.

Overlooking the Cedar Point Beach is the Breakers Tower section, a 10-story facility with 230 suites and rooms including 17 luxurious Horizon Suites. Opened in 1999, Breakers Tower also has an atrium-covered indoor pool, a concierge level on the 10th floor, a T.G.I. Friday’s restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and an arcade with the latest video games.

Located on the east end of the complex, Breakers East features 206 rooms and suites, including eight towers suites that overlook the beach. It also has a conference center with complimentary WiFi service while a pool and Jacuzzi are just outside. Built in 1995, Breakers East will commemorate its 15th anniversary in 2010.

Sandcastle Suites

Situated on the northern tip of the Cedar Point Peninsula, Sandcastle Suites provides relaxing accommodations in a beautiful lakeside setting. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Sandcastle Suites has 187 suites including three Grand Vista Suites with an indoor Jacuzzi and wraparound deck or patio.

Recently Sandcastle Suites completed a two-year $5 million interior and exterior upgrades program. Each of the suites was completely remodeled while an extensive exterior improvements program was also finished.

Guests at Sandcastle Suites have access to its outdoor pool, tennis courts and merchandise shop. The Breakwater Café, located adjacent to the hotel, provides meals throughout the day and is the best location for viewing the breathtaking sunsets.

Lighthouse Point

With cedar-shingled cottages and cabins with log exteriors, Lighthouse Point offers its own style of vacation fun and comfort. Each cottage and cabin has a bedroom, living room, kitchenette and bathroom, while the cabins also have a loft that is perfect for camping out with the kids. Each also has an outdoor deck or patio.

Next door, the luxury RV campsites have pull-through and back-in sites that accommodate large upscale RVs on a concrete site. Electricity, water, sewer and cable TV are also available at each site.

Lighthouse Point also has an outdoor pool, recreation area with lawn games, arcade and a pier jutting into Sandusky Bay.

Camper Village

Near the tip of the Cedar Point Peninsula is the Camper Village RV campground that features 112 RV sites nestled in a wooded area.

With laundry facilities and modern rest rooms with showers, Camper Village has all the necessities for a fun family outing. Other amenities include the Camper Village Store for supplies, a nearby outdoor pool with whirlpool spa, beach privileges, game room and courtesy shuttle service on the Cedar Point Peninsula.

For added convenience, Cedar Point, the Soak City waterpark and Challenge Park family activity complex are only a short walk away.

Breakers Express

Located just a short drive from the entrance to Cedar Point, the Breakers Express is only minutes away from all of the fun and excitement. Built in 2000, the 350-room hotel provides affordable accommodations and convenient access to the park and its attractions.

Each room features two queen beds, a spacious bathroom and color television. Outside, the Snoopy-shaped outdoor pool and outdoor spa are perfect for fun and relaxation. Other amenities include game room, convenient laundry facilities and wireless internet access in the lobby.

Guests at Breakers Express qualify for Early Entry and can enter the park one hour before Cedar Point opens to the public.

Castaway Bay Indoor Waterpark Resort

With comfortable accommodations, resort amenities and a huge indoor waterpark, a stay at Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay year-round indoor waterpark resort makes a visit to the amusement park even more exciting.

Inside, the waterpark has body slides, water coaster, huge wave pool and special attractions for the little ones. Next door, the arcade features colored lights, music and the latest video games.

Other amenities include eateries, day spa, fitness center and outdoor pool. There is also a craft and game center, while Snoopy and his friends meet all of their friends every day in the lobby. Cedar Point Marina

With 742 slips, including 85 slips that are available for overnight rental, the Cedar Point Marina is one of the largest on the Great Lakes. Nearby are the Bay Harbor and Famous Dave’s Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que restaurants.

The Cedar Point Marina also has gated docks, floating pier system, gas dock, marina store, picnic area and swimming pool. Guests at the Cedar Point Marina qualify for Early Entry and can enter the park one hour before Cedar Point opens to the public.

Pier 53 Marine at Cedar Point is headquartered in the Cedar Point Marina and can provide general mechanical and fiberglass repairs, boat engine and gear maintenance, new equipment installation and boat brokerage.

Castaway Bay Marina

The Castaway Bay Marina is conveniently located adjacent to the year-round Castaway Bay indoor waterpark resort. It has 160 slips that can accommodate boats up to 45 feet long.

Amenities at the Castaway Bay Marina include gated docks, fuel docks, full utilities including telephone and cable television, climate-controlled bathhouse with rest room and shower facilities, and in-ground heated pool. Guests at the Castaway Bay Marina qualify for Early Entry and can enter the park one hour before Cedar Point opens to the public.

For added convenience, boaters can dock directly outside the recently renovated T.G.I. Friday’s restaurant that is connected to Castaway Bay.

Soak City waterpark

For non-stop excitement and a splashing good time, the Soak City waterpark is the coolest place to be this summer.

Located adjacent to Cedar Point, Soak City will provide a full day of fun for everyone who wants to cool off and have fun. Inside the 18-acre complex, water-lovers will find more than a dozen thrilling slides, a gigantic 500,000-gallon wave pool, inner tube rivers, a family raft ride and the multi-story Splash Zone filled with gadgets designed to drench everybody. There’s even two special areas for the little ones.

Soak City will be open daily Saturday, May 29 through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6, 2010. Admission to Cedar Point is not required.

Challenge Park

Located between Soak City and Cedar Point, the Challenge Park activity complex creates excitement for everyone!

With a variety of rides and attractions, Challenge Park lets guests test their skills or find new thrills!

Attractions at Challenge Park include:

  • Skyscraper: a 16-story propeller that spins at speeds of 55 mph and flips riders upside down 160 feet above the midway!;
  • RipCord: a thrilling skycoaster that drops riders straight down from 15-stories above the ground. Riders reach speeds of 65 mph as they swing through the zoom zone!;
  • Challenge Racing: Two go-kart tracks built for speed that will challenge everyone’s driving skills; and
  • Challenge Golf: Players can putt for fame and glory on two beautifully landscaped 18-hole miniature golf courses.

Challenge Park is open to the public. Admission to Cedar Point or Soak City is not required. Each attraction has a separate fee.

Cedar Point Beach

Stretching for more than a mile, the sandy Cedar Point Beach is considered one of the finest beaches on the Great Lakes. It is a great location to swim in the cool waters of Lake Erie, relax in the sun or play volleyball.

Just across the boardwalk is the Hotel Breakers, T.G.I. Fridays and the Beaches & Cream ice cream parlor.

At the end of beach, near the Wicked Twister roller coaster, North Coast Parasail & Jet Ski adds another dimension of fun to a visit to the beach. Water-enthusiasts can opt for parasailing over the lake or riding the waves on Jet Skis.

Cedar Point will open for its 141st season on Saturday, May 15 and will be open daily through Labor Day, Sept. 6, 2010.

The park will also be open on Sunday, Sept. 12 and for HalloWeekends XIV on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 17-19 through Oct. 29-31, 2010.
