To maintain a family type atmosphere at Cedar Point, we require that our guests be dressed in accordance with the standards set forth below. Clothing that might offend other guests is not allowed (within certain guidelines). At every entrance there are signs stating that “Cedar Point reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone not properly dressed.”
Statement
Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times, including entering and leaving. Swimwear must be sufficiently covered. Profanity, obscene gestures, obscene statements, pictures of illegal substances, motorcycle colors, insignias of para-military groups, all gang related items on clothing, costumes or disguises that conceal identity are prohibited. Cedar Point reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who refuses to comply with the dress code summarized here.
NOTICE: It is illegal to carry a firearm, deadly weapon, or dangerous ordnance anywhere on Cedar Point property. Unless otherwise authorized by law, no person shall knowingly possess, have under the person’s control, convey, or attempt to convey a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance onto Cedar Point property. Posted pursuant to Ohio Revised Code.
Additional Information
Shirts and shoes must be worn for admittance. Before guests can receive a hand stamp for re-admission, they must have their shoes on or have them with them, and they must either be wearing a shirt or have one in their possession. The guests will be told that they must have their shirts and shoes on to reenter the park, and that their shirts and shoes must remain on while they are in the park. We require shoes for safety reasons. Hand-held infants who cannot walk are not required to wear shoes. Anything with a hard sole is considered a shoe. Socks alone are not allowed.
Modest bikini tops and bikini-type tops are allowed at Cedar Point as long as they provide sufficient coverage. The chest area, including the upper, front and side parts of the body between the shoulders and abdomen must be covered by a non-transparent piece of clothing. Form fitting or brief type bathing suits or shorts that expose any of the buttocks area are not allowed.
Shirts (including bikini tops), shorts and shoes must be worn at all times. The only exceptions are: (1) bathing suits do not have to be covered while riding Thunder Canyon or Snake River Falls and (2) shoes do not have to be worn while riding Thunder Canyon, Wave Swinger, Power Tower, Snake River Falls, Raptor, Wicked Twister, Skyhawk or maXair. On all other rides, guests must have shoes or sandals that fasten so they will not fall off.
Appropriate swim wear as set forth above is required for Soak City. Street clothes are permitted on the beach and beside the swimming pools, but guests are not permitted to enter the water in street clothes.
Clothing items with profanity or obscene or sexually explicit pictures, graphics or statements are not permitted to be worn inside the park. Inappropriate items cannot be worn inside out. They must be returned to the guest’s car or hotel room.
Jackets with emblems, insignias, or shields that represent an organization not open to the general public are not permitted inside the park. Exceptions include insignias for governmental agencies, school groups, scouting, athletic, religious, public service or civic groups.
Motorcycle “colors”, insignias of para-military groups or any gang related items cannot be worn in the park. Management reserves the right to exclude any type of emblem or insignia which it finds unacceptable, or any clothing it considers offensive to our park guests.
Any reference to support the use of drugs or pictures of illegal substances on clothing is not allowed to be worn inside the park. If a guest has a T-shirt on that is not acceptable, it must be replaced with another piece of clothing.
Costumes or disguises that conceal identity are prohibited.
Guests who have painted their entire face will not be allowed to enter the park. However, guests who have dyed their hair an unnatural color will be allowed to enter the park.
Guests that are with a performing band or group may be dressed in a “mascot” outfit, but they cannot wander the midway alone.
Knives, handcuffs, guns or other such weapons, including laser pointers and squirt guns, are not allowed on Cedar Point property. Guests wearing a wallet on a chain will be asked to return the chain to their car before being admitted to the park.
Segways (personal transporter devices) are not permitted inside the park.
The use of roller skates, roller blades, scooters, bicycles, tricycles and skate boards is prohibited on Cedar Fair property. Motorized wheelchairs and wagons are allowed.
Service animals/guide dogs are allowed in the park as well as service animals in training.
