Miscellaneous Employee Information

Work Authorization

All employees are required to provide proof of employment eligibility, (i.e. picture id or driver's license and a social security card or birth certificate) when they arrive for work at Cedar Point.

International students studying in a US college or university, must present a valid work authorization card or an I-20 form endorsed by a designated college/university official, in addition to their social security card, when they arrive for work. Please be prepared to present these documents when you check-in for work. (Failure to produce these documents will result in the withdrawal of your employment offer.)

All other international students hired by Cedar Point must possess an DS-2019 form specifying the work and travel program that is sponsoring the student for employment. Each student must also possess a valid passport and J-1 visa. Please be prepared to present these documents when you check-in for work. (Failure to produce these documents will result in the withdrawal of your employment offer.)

Money

Employees are paid bi-weekly . Each pay period begins on Monday and ends on Sunday. If you begin work on Monday, please come prepared to pay for cafeteria meals and other necessities for a period of twenty-one (21) days.

A direct deposit program to any bank in the U.S. is available.

Employees should come prepared to cover their food expenses for a period of twenty-one days before receiving their first paycheck. Cedar Point has a full-service, inexpensive Employee Cafeteria where employees can enjoy meals at minimal cost.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: We are unable to exchange foreign currency. Please exchange your currency prior to your arrival in the U.S.

Uniforms/Work Schedule

Work uniforms are provided free of charge (excluding TGI Friday's). Free laundry service for uniforms is also provided. Most work schedules are dependent on park attendance. The average workweek at Cedar Point is 6 days, 48-55 hours per week. Hours are subject to increase later in the season (August – September).

Climate

The climate in Sandusky is usually hot and humid July to September. We recommend that all employees drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. Also if you are working outdoors, please wear sunscreen.

What to Bring?

  • Light casual clothes, summer shorts, and jeans for off/duty hours.
  • An alarm clock and a wristwatch are also essential.

  • Good idea to bring a sweater or light jacket in the event we have some cool evenings
