« Go Back Wednesday, January 25th, 2012Thanks for all of your comments on the last post! It's great to hear most of you like the new website. We'll continue to update and evolve the site and we listen to your comments so keep 'em coming!
One development we're working on is a better blog comment interface to allow me to respond to your questions and comments. Since I couldn't directly respond to many of your comments on the last post, I wanted to take the time here to answer some common questions.
Q: "What happened to all the old Tony and Tyler blogs? I would be sad if they were gone."
A: We couldn't automatically pull all of the content over to the new site, but we archived all of the previous blog entries and are still working on the best way to make those available for you!
Q: "I submitted my comment, but don't see it on the blog."
A: As was the case on the previous site, comments are submitted to the system and not automatically displayed. I go through and "publish" comments. This approval process is to prevent any comments with inappropriate conent or profanity from being displayed on our website.
Q: "Do you know when the Platinum Pass benefits for 2012 will be posted and when the Ride Nights will be?"
A: Most benefits will remain the same for Platinum Passholders in 2012 (Free parking, in-park discounts, admission to Soak City and other Cedar Fair parks, Early Entry, etc.). We haven't determined dates for the ride nights yet, but will let you know as soon as they are scheduled! This summer, we thought it might be helpful to offer ride nights on different nights of the week, to give more passholders an opportunity to take advantage of the ERT. Let me know if you have any reccommendations, and we'll see what we can do!
Q: "Why don't all the coasters have POV Videos?"
A: We've uploaded all the high-quality POVs we currently have. This summer, we hope to shoot even more POVs for more coasters like Mantis, Gemini, Mean Streak and others. We also hope to update some exisitng POVs (like the Raptor video in the previous entry). A couple people noticed the Iron Dragon POV here, starts from the second lift. This is because we wanted to keep the quality high, but needed to keep video length and file size down in order to make sure the pages still load without a long delay. The full Iron Dragon POV can now be found on our YouTube channel.
Q: "I only got the webcams to work one time. Only the names of the cams appear, but I can't see the images."
A: We're working out some bugs in the webcam display. If you're experiencing issues, please comment here on the blog, or contact us and be sure to mention which internet browser you are using.
Q: "What happened to the Millennium Force station music you could download?"
A: The "Extra Point" is structured slightly differently than the old site. We'll find a place to add the music download, but in the meantime click here!
Q: "Are there going to be construction photos for Dinosaurs Alive? What else is being done to the park in 2012?"
A: We will definitely share some construction photos of the Dinosaurs Alive area! Currently, there isn't much to see. The dinos will arrive and be assembled this spring. And, to answer the second part of the question... you will just have to wait and see!
